Alright pay attention...it's all a bit hush-hush at this stage, but to mark an epic Olympic and Jubilee year, the official UK PLC PR roadshow kicks off in Rio De Janeiro in March. Taking the top of Sugarloaf mountain it'll be wall-to-wall bigwigs, top brass and stuffed shirts. The trade, industry and cultural stuff is well represented, but who can her Majesty's Government rely on to get the party started?. Naturally, the FCO turned to the Groucho Club to put on a 'bit of a do'. Now apparently these Rio chaps are famed for some sort of knees-up, but I think we can show them how we do it back in Blighty. And we may even stream the event to the Club so that you can monitor the operation from HQ. But if any Members were to find themselves in Rio on March 9th, there might be a chance we can wangle a ticket or two, no promises, more details to follow, needless to say great honour etcetera, probably worth a small gloat to members of clubs that aren't 'by appointment' so to speak.
