Oliver Clegg

‘All collections are driven by different intentions — some collectors may have just an interest in collecting Asian art, some mediæval art and others only paintings. Some collectors may just be buying for investment value, with no personal tastes involved. The Groucho collection is different because it represents the artists as well as their work. It’s about the people who come to the club as opposed to their work serving a purely decorative function within a club environment.’

‘The great thing about the Groucho is that you can’t plan what kind of evening you are going to have, who you may run into and what may or may not happen. What I do know is that the Groucho is always welcoming and will always continue to be a London institution.’
