Salon presents: The Science of Laughter

Tuesday 10 May, 7pm

Part 2 of 3. Salon brings together eminent scientists and academics to discuss their latest findings in a simple and understandable way. UCL neuroscientist Professor Sophie Scott likes to have a good laugh at work, but then she does lead the world in the study of the effects of laughter on the brain.  Find out what we are saying when we laugh, why we rarely laugh alone and what it really means when we find someone hilarious? Sophie will reveal to us the role laughter plays in bonding us as friends, as sexual partners and even as tribes, and how it is an essential part of being a sentient being.
